Above photos of my hotel room in Ayutthaya at the Kantary Hotel. On the top floor, it was the PENTHOUSE. (Actually those in double occupancy rooms had TWO master suites with a bathroom, a similar living room, dining area and kitchen.) Large living room with dining area, balcony, complete kitchen with washer/dryer, downstairs 1/2 bathroom, upstairs master bedroom and full bath with separate large walk-in shower and deep tub. Notice the view from my bedroom down to the living room thru my window. Also notice the toilet accessory...a sprayer. This is how the typical Thai commode is set up, with many facilities not having toilet paper at all. Traveler note: public restrooms frequently have only two footpads and a hole in the center, and a grab bar. NOTE TO FEMALE TRAVELERS: If needing to use the facilities at a public area such as the large gas stations/shopping areas where we would pull in for rest stops, or at one of the temple sites, go directly to the HANDICAPPED restroom if you prefer the more "western style" facilities with an actual toilet. And always carry a half-roll of TP in your purse, just in case there is none provided. On the right notice the fancy streetlights. It seems that every town tries to outdo the next one by creating really fancy streetlights on their main streets! |
