Thailand Day 10b
Thailand Day
Golden Triangle - Talicheik Myanmar continued
Trash container - sometimes woven as above, sometimes
a cast iron kettle
Our tuk-tuk caravan continues past bamboo fenced areas
A
temple along the way
Typical streets, narrow streets with houses along
the way.
Note Teak balcony and trim.
Construction shows use of a lot of bamboo poses in
early stages as support beams.
Another house. They like this aqua color for homes.
Some sort of little shrine, not sure what for, set
up in the alleyway
It never ceases to amaze me when I see modern technology in odd places. This young boy was under his house in the "garage area" playing games. |
Grandma is making flatbread using two sticks over
the coals in a pan
This is the storage area under the house, which is
built on stilts due to flooding concerns.

Long uphill walk, finally reach the temple
Each birth date is related to a special animal and
shrine here. Tina is kneeling before her shrine at the left.
Our tuk-tuks heading back towards the border with
Thailand, Mae Sai.
Now we go to visit another border area and cross the Mekong River to Laos - the day continues...click here
